Well, I’ve still never been but every year it comes ’round I really wish I had.
But thankfully there’s plenty of people that do go, so rather than having to deal with all those sweaty Milanese, here’s my mate Craig’s photos from the Fair

I get invited months ago to give a workshop with a class of design students in Denver. My girlfriend (bending over me) accompanied me and became a vital part of the sucess of the workshop.

But after all the work and the stress of running it, I got to go skiing for the first time in my life!

After about an hour of some pretty confident bunny slope action, we decide to hit a huge mountain. I know… why didn’t I stay on the bunny slopes? Why didn’t I take some lessons?!

Lessons. pssscht! Who needs lessons?!

Well, needless to say, it I went down a green (which felt double black diamond) slope and I tried to maintain the “pizza slice” shape, but something eventually had to give.

And in this case, what gave was a ligament in my knee.

My right ski tip went ‘in’ and I went ‘down’.

Going down in the ski patrol sled was the best part of the trip.

well, I’ve finally worked out the not very difficult interface issues I was having with Flickr. so I’m now all steam ahead. you can’t stop me! total visual overload one crappy picture at a time.

For those that haven’t seen the wonders of flickr, then please go straight to flickr for more info.

But for the reasons that I chose it over all the other photosharing sites out there are these:

Unlimited file storage capacity
A very generous monthly upload limit (of 2Gb)
An affordable yearly membership of $25
and the best part, so many ways to embed meta data into your photos.

the meta data part is the most exciting part to me since it allows you to write more of the back story behind the images that’s always there.

so far, the one major problem I have with flickr is the lack of any support for online printing, like all the other major sharing sites, shutterfly, ofoto, et al. But I believe it’s only time before those functions are added. Flickr is owned by Yahoo after all.

So go here and check out my pics
